Help with downloading extra effects

Hey guys, im running Audacity 1.3 beta on Windows vista. I'm trying to download some plug-ins to get more effects, First i tried LADSPA plug-ins, downloaded and intsalled them to program files/audacity1.3/plugins, when i open audacity it says "Checking VST plugins" and then when i open the effects bar i dont see any extra, what am i doing wrong?!

Also if someone could help me downloading and installing the "VST" plugins, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

I have deleted the three other posts you made in different forums about the same issue. Please post once only to the forum for your operating system and version of Audacity, as you have done here.

You have to restart Audacity to make LADSPA plug-ins visible, and you have to adjust the installation path in the LADSPA installer so that it points to the Plug-Ins folder in the version of Audacity you are using. If that Plug-Ins folder does not contain the extra dll files, you will need to copy them in from the folder you actually installed them to.

To add VST plug-ins to 1.3 you have to both restart Audacity and check the "Rescan VST effects" option at Edit > Preferences: Effects.
