Timer Record problems and suggested additions

Hi, Iv'e been using the latest beta to archive some audiobooks and have been making extensive use of TImer Record, I've noticed a few oddities...
Problems
-Sometimes when trying to end the recording by hitting cancel in the smart record progress box nothing happens
-last night I set up a recording for 55 minutes and the remaining time counter showed over an hour
Suggestions for future additions to "timer record"
-add a option on the prefernces to set a default recoring time for timer record
-add the option to play an alarm sound at the end of a timer record
