Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

You can make your sound file smaller by exporting it in MP3 instead of WAV.

Audacity must add 'lame' software to make MP3.

Make sure your version of Audacity is the correct one for the lame you download.

MP3 makes smaller files, but it also makes damage to the sound. Very large MP3 files have little damage. Very small MP3 files can have bad damage.

I have a joke with the Dutch engineers here that when you speak Dutch, it sounds like pots and pans falling down the stairs.
