Windows media player cannot burn my wav files

I exported my project as WAV format 16 bit PCM to a folder, which was not visible as a music library in windows media player, so I moved it to the music folder where all my CD-music resides. I then tried to burn from media player, but all I get is error messages telling that media player cannot determine the length of your tracks, so cannot burn disc. If I look at the wav-file's properties inside media player, it says length is 00:00. However if I check the same file's properties with the standard file manager window, it says length is 4:07, which is correct. What should I do? I could try exporting mp3's, but that won't give me the high quality I was after.

I have windows vista on a 1.5 year old PC, cannot find version of win media player, audacity 1.3.11

I think it's a bug in Windows Media Player.
Play the file (in Windows Media Player) and the length should then display correctly in WMP and burn to CD.

thats what they suggest in the windows help as well, but it has no effect. The length doesnt come up just from playing it.
I think wmp looks like a real shitty program for cd-burning, the whole behavior seems erratic to me, I have made lots of error with it,
like burning songs I had no intention to burn.

I shan't argue :D
Since you're on Windows, try CDBurnerXP (it's free and a very good CD burner).

Yea, that was better, much better. This one looks like, and behaves like a proper program. Thanx for the pointer Steve!
