I am using audacity to make the audio for a video that involves a lot of copying and pasting. Now, this project requires very good timing, and alot of jumping around.
The problem is, whenever I go in to paste a sound in, it pushes everything else forward.
As of right now, I am just pasting all audio files into seperate tracks, then merging the tracks, but this is a bit impractical.
Is there any way to have pasted audio clips not push other clips forward?
Copying and pasting moves audio

Ummm. Use a video editor?
As far as I know, Audacity doesn't have an Overlay or Assemble mode or anything like that, and it doesn't keep track of edit points really well. It's a feature request.
Assembling on stacked audio tracks it is. You've met the Envelope Tool, right?
