Rookie on deck - importing live radio podcast to audacity

I'm new to audacity and am trying to save some nostalgia as a long time local DJ has retired. The station has posted podcasts of his last days broadcast, but they do not have individual URL's. I have tried to play on computer with record activated on Audacity and nada. I checked preferences and have tried several options, still nada. I am using windows vista and the 1.3 beta software. Its not as easy as the drag and drop suggested by my friend. Recording these podcasts will mean a lot to me, as this guy has been a part of my life for 45 years. Thanks in advance. Rich

Koz...
Thank you for your reply. I've been under the weather due to allergies since your post and have been unable to attempt your suggestions yet to a successful result. At the current point, I think I have scrambled all the defaults enough that an uninstall and reinstall may be my first best solution at this point and start over. The one thing I know so far is that my adjustment attempts so far have failed to have my computer identify something is playing through it (radio broadcast) to pick it up and record it. I attribute this to a mis-settings and I'm ready to give it another shot. Rich

Newer computers are making this harder and harder. The recording device is called Mix-Out, Stereo-Mix, or What-U-Hear. Sometimes it's hidden. It's possible you may not find a way to do it.
