Hi.
I'm using a pc with windows xp but now my pc is struggling to run smoothly with some of my tunes. I've tried extra ram but not a lot has improved soooo i've been thinking about changing to some form of mac.
Would i be able to move my existing files from my pc to a mac to continue working on my songs on audacity?
Thanks!

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: windows to mac - files?
Do you want us to try and figure out why your existing computer is struggling? That may be far easier than trying to move your shows.
The short answer is the WAV format. Audacity defaults to File> Export > WAV because those files will open up in all three types of computer. You can do that with MP3 files, too, but MP3 causes sound damage and you can't stop it.
You can't move Audacity projects. So if you have a ton of AUP files and_DATA folders, this could be very interesting.
Do you hate Windows, or are you comfortable in both? If you never used a Mac before there is some adaptation....
