I was Told that you could Use Something Called Live Monitoring In Audacity so that when You Speak Into the Mic It comes Straight Out of The Speakers
Basically It makes your PC act as a Amplifier

That's a close cousin to a question further up the forum. This was my answer.


If by "Artificial Amplifier" you mean getting the computer's own sound system to amplifier the guitar, you might be able to get Audacity to do that.

Step One. Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.12.

Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported.

Go into Audacity Preferences and select Hardware Playthrough. Restart Audacity and see if the computer speakers wake up when you press Record. You don't have to actually go into record. You can click once inside the red record meters and they will wake up and meter the music and the sound services will wake up, too.

If that doesn't work (and it might not), then stop everything, go into Audacity Preferences and deselect Hardware Playthrough and select Software Playthrough. Restart Audacity. Does that work? That's the setting with the heavy delay, but almost everybody supports it.

That may be about the best we can do.

you could do that. but you are more likely to get an awful sounding squeal as the speakers feedback into the microphones.

if you put the speakers in another room you could provide ghost voices for a seance but other than that the setup you were told about is not really useful.

if you want a PA type system you can do it faster better cheaper easier without a pc in the middle.

On Windows, Audacity does not have an option for "Hardware Playthrough".
On Windows there is only the option for "Software Playthrough" (off by default).

"Hardware Playthrough" on Windows is configured in Windows, not in Audacity. On Windows this is usually done through the sound card driver GUI (the sound card "Mixer" or "Control Panel") simply by enabling the required input socket in the Playback section of the mixer.

"Software Playthrough" on Windows should normally be set to "disabled" (not selected). The main exception to this is when using a USB turntable - "Software Playthrough" may be enabled to allow sound from the USB turntable to be channeled (in software) through to the computer sound card output. "Software Playthrough" on Windows is noticeably delayed, making it unsuitable for most other uses.
