Hi:
I am trying to export a WAV file to MP3 format with a lower kbps than the default of 128.
How do you change the preferences to export at, lets say, half that to 64 kbps?
In older versions of Audacity, there was a spot in the preferences to reduce the transfer rate.
My goal is to reduce the file size.
Thanks,
Graygoose

Re: Exporting WAV to MP3
You know the sound damage goes up when you do that, right? The lower the bitrate, the more muffled and bubbly the show gets. Audacity 1.3 sets the MP3 bitrate during the Export step, not in Preferences.

Thanks Koz.
I am doing audio interviews so the quality is not as important as the file size.
Take care,
Craig
