Record Voicemail to PC
How do you record voicemail from ones cellphone to your PC? I've downloaded a software called 'Audacity' and bought a audio cable to plug my cell phone into my PC, but everytime I try recording the software doesn't pick up the sound. Does anyone know how to do this?

I bet I can force it to work, but it may be seriously awkward.
Details on the handset. Who made it? Model numbers. I'm using a Palm Treo 600 at work.
Where did you get the cable from? Is it the company's dub cable, or did you walk into Radio Shack and get one with the right plugs on it? The handset only has one place to plug things, right?

My cell is the Samsung Eternity. It's a touch screen, sort of looks like a cheap version of the iPhone.
I bought the audio cable at Target for like $6. It plugs into my cell fine but I did notice that when I plug it into my PC and start the voice mail it makes a weird sound.
Kind of like a loud tapping sound but doesn't pick up the message on my voicemail. Any suggestions?

Re: Record Voicemail to PC
First things first. Can you play music on the phone into your headphones? Plug the new interconnection cable in place of the headphones and into the computer. Can you capture the music in Audacity?
The phone has BlueTooth connections for an earpiece, so the phone communications doesn't go through the music sound system. However, the phone does have speakerphone mode and that might.

Well, I don't have music on my cell to play but I'm sure I could listen to music on it with headphones. What do you suggest, that I play the voice mail through speaker phone and see if Audacity captures it?

To cut to the end of the play, yes.
