I have a new computer w/ Windows 7 (64 bit). In trying to use the Beta version of Audacity, I understand I need a phono preamp between the turntable and the computer. I have no Idea what I should buy. HELP!

The USB turntables have the RIAA equalization and signal boosting built in. You plug the USB cable into the computer and the rest is up to the machines.
Only the analog turntables need the external Phono Preamplifier.

As Koz says, if it is a USB turntable, i.e. the lead from the turntable plugs into a USB port on the computer, then, no, you don't need a preamp.
You just plug the TT into the computer, set up Audacity and start recording.
Records are made with the treble increased and the bass reduced, so that the grooves can be packed closely together, and you can get more recording time onto a side.
What a phono preamp does is to reverse those increases and reductions, so that the music sounds right and the signal can be sent to an amplifier or recorder.
In a USB turntable, the preamp is built into the turntable and, in addition, the signal is converted from analog to digital, so that you get a digital signal out of the USB plug and into the computer.
Here is the page from the manual that describes how to set up Audacity with a USB turntable:

Thanks! I used the turntable with Windows XP, but I had trouble when I tried to use the Beta Audacity on Windows 7. I'll try again.
