Audacity Forum

Aloha,
We have been using Audacity for over a year to convert our church sermon CDs to our website. Everything has been working GREAT until we had upgraded to Windows 7 and then had to upload the new audacity for it. Now when we record the sermons it comes out all staticy. The audio on the CD sounds fine... What am I doing wrong???

On Win 7 you should be using the latest 1.3 version.

It is essential that the sound card drivers are the latest available. Many of the drivers that were first released for Win 7 were cobbled together quickly in time for Win 7 release and have problems - many of them have since been updated.

That's the right version then, but posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum. I'll move this to the 1.3.x part.

What are you recording from? A USB microphone? (make and model numbers can be useful).
What sample rate and bit depth are you using (if you're not sure, look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Quality")
Are you recording in mono or stereo?
