How to make mono save with stereo recording

I have an MP3 recorder to record speeches. I run the recording in stereo but I want to change that to mono when I save it. How do you do the mono save?

You need to convert the track(s) to mono before you export (and do not move the "pan" sliders that are in the box below the track name from the centre position).
To make a stereo track mono, select the track then click on "Tracks menu > Stereo to Mono".
