Can I post bug reports here?
Using 1.3.8 on windows vista, I recorded another channel of sound starting in the middle of a project (ie 1 minute into the song).
Then I selected the first 10 seconds of that channel, and applied "Create silence" (or whatever the english name is for that command).
Which made the entire track to slide back to time zero. I could avoid this by not selecting from the very start of the channel, but then of course I dont get silence initially.
I dont know how this is supposed to work, but for me it was totally unexpected, and in my opinion its a bug.

Re: create silence bug?
Can you try this again with the latest Beta release 1.3.11 (Or even the Alpha 1.3.12). 1,3,8 is sufficiently old now that the developers will not respond to bug reports in it.
