I'm new to home recording. Have Fostex digital recorder - manual says download .wav file from Fostex. Done. Downloaded Audacity. Done. Selected Audacity to 'operate .wav file - received error message. Any insight?
thanks

I have deleted the two non-informative posts in this thread that merely seemed to serve the purpose of promoting people's websites.

WAV files produced by digital recorders are not always PCM uncompressed WAV but may be some heavily size-compressed file inside a WAV container. If anyone has a related problem, try adding FFmpeg to your computer and choose "FFmpeg-compatible files" when you File > Open or File > Import the WAV into Audacity.
