W7 (64) vs SB Live-24 vs Audacity 1.3.11 beta

Hi.
I've tried reading the FAQs and maybe it's me or maybe it's the combination of software/hardware I'm using, but I can't find anything that sorts me out. If someone can put me straight I would appreciate it.
I have Windows 7 64-bit, so downloaded the beta version of Audacity as looking the most compatible. I have also stuffed an old SB Live! 24-bit sound card into it from my old PC. I have Logitech speakers plugged into the light-green jack on the card. The sound coming out is great - much better than the standard sound.
My problem is that I cannot seem to find a combination of settings either in Audacity itself, or in the Windows Sound settings that allow Audacity to hear the sound coming out of the speakers.
On the main window I only see 'Master' in the drop-down. In Audacity Preferences I can choose Playback Device from:
(a) Microsft Sound Mapper - output, (b) Speakers (SB Live! 24-bit), (c) Digital Audio Interface (SB Liv, (d) Speakers (Sound Tap Recorder).
I can choose Recording Device from: (a) Microsft Sound Mapper - input, (b) S/PDIF-In (SB Live! 24-bit), (c) Microphone (SB Live! 24-bit), (d) Line-In (SB Live! 24-bit).
In the Windows Sound window on the Recording tab I have 3 choices: (a) Microphone/SB Live! 24-bit/Currently Unavailable, (b) Line-In/SB Live! 24-bit/Currently Unavailable and (c) S/PDIF-In/SB Live! 24-bit/Default Device.
The Playback tab has (a) Speakers/SB Live! 24-bit/Default Device, (b) Digital Audio Interface/SB Live! 24-bit/Ready, (c) Speakers/SoundTap Recorder/Default Communications Device.
I have tried all combinations of settings in Audacity, but when 'recording' all I get is a solid blue line, and when I 'play' I hear nothing. Any help gratefully received.
