recording live streaming

any suggestions on how to bust the recorded volume of my recording.I have not exported it yet.my settings were,recording
level meters(red)I slid it to the maximum.On my desk top i;m using Vista O.S.I set the recording in Audio Manager,
for Stereo mix at 65%. will that affect the recording volume?
Under Audacity Preferences>import/export.mp library version should read,lame v3.98.2 for the current one?

I'm not sure what that means. You're recording an internet radio show and you want to make it louder?
