i downloaded audacity with the intention of taking parts of 2 songs and putting them together to create one song. the reason i needed to do this is because i could not find a legit version of "greatest hits extended" by sublime. i have one version with a recording in the beginning, like i want, but then it gets cut off early at the end. and then i have a different one that doesnt have the recording in the beginning but doesnt get cut off in the end. so what i wanted to do was take the recording from the one version and throw that in the beginning of the other one. but since im such a newbie at using audacity im having a bit of trouble.. part of it loops over and so it repeats some of the guitar in the beginning. and im not sure how to fix this. im thinking about posting what i have so far on youtube and then one of you guys could download the file and fix it for me? if one of you could do this for me that would be great! thanks so much

you can use this program to extract the file from the youtube video: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dv ... verter.htm

and heres my problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCJ7lMvTyTk

at right about 32 seconds is where it loops. any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the vulgar language in the song

Without listening to the sound clips, your description is of an export problem that Audacity 1.3.10 has. What you export isn't what you get. Pull down 1.3.11 and try that.

You want to match the quality of the two music clips so there is less of a shock at the loop point -- 32 seconds?

I think I'm going to let one of the Windows people take this one. I'm a Mac elf.

I'd just delete from 21.7 seconds to 30.9 seconds.

You just need to turn off the "Snap To" - see bottom left corner of the Audacity window - go there and un-check the tick-box.
