I was using Audacity after installing and it was working perfectly.
I clicked on the Riiset Drum and now I can,t get it to stop. Make a new file and its there, too.I deleted program and reinstalled and its still there. Can,t find anything in the directions.
What do I do to turn it off? May have also turned on something in the effects.
On internet search I find phrase "click default button to rewtore defaults" Where is it?
Any help would be so appreciated.
Thanks,
A frustrated Richard229

Re: Risset drum
To clarify my previous post.
When I reinstalled the program I was trying to move it from c:DRIVE to F: drive, where there is more room. Now that I have had a few hours of sleep my mind is a little sharper and I,m thinking that perhaps the program will not run on f: and has to be on the C: drive under programs. Think were having a problem removing all the files from the old program, also Thought a clean install would clear up the problem. No matter what as soon as I hit record button drum starts. Dosen,t sound right either. Think I hit the click track, too. Any info on how to do a complete uninstall would be appreciated. If there has to be editing of the registry I,ll have my son do it as he knows his way around. (Works in computer shop but not at all familiar with this program) Thanks,

Re: Risset drum
I'm assuming that you have posted in the correct part of the forum and are using Audacity 1.3 (resetting version 1.2 is different).
Audacity Preferences are stored in a configuration file called "audacity.cfg" in the Audacity settings folder. The configuration file can be edited with any text editor. The Audacity settings folder is located at:
* Windows (except Vista) : Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacity
* Windows Vista: Users<user name>AppDataRoamingAudacity
You may need to enable viewing "Hidden files" to find audacity.cfg
To reset preferences to factory settings:
1. Exit Audacity
2. Open audacity.cfg in a text editor and remove all the content except the line "NewPrefsInitialized=1"
3. Save the changes to audacity.cfg and restart Audacity

Re: Risset drum
Thank you for that info.
I did that this morning as well as uninstall and reinstall on c: drive.
That took care of the sound issue (drum and click) but now its not recording.
I can open a saved file and play it. Susupect something got changed. Looking for it now.
Thanks again and if you have idea on this sure would be appreciated. I do have an Audigy Sound Card so maby something got changed there.

Re: Risset drum
That's most likely, although if you are on Vista on Win 7 you probably need to enable a recording input in the Windows Control Panel: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panelrichard229 wrote:I do have an Audigy Sound Card so maby something got changed there.
