I recorded a voice track for an 800# greeting. When I listen back in Audacity it sounds great, however when I upload it and listen back over the phone, all of the S sounds are like a hiss. They really stand out to where it is hard to listen to the message.

I recorded it with a USB Logitech Headset. But like I said, it sounds fine in Audacity. I tried it in both WAVE and MP3, same thing in both formats. The 800# company does require a mono recording, but I don't see any way to create that in Audacity.

What can I do?

Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono.

What happens if you Export as WAV, close Audacity, and listen to it in Windows Media Player?

What specification are you using in Audacity and what's the desired Export format? Exactly. We live on details.
