Hello
I have a link in MP3 format of a podcast that I want to import and edit.
<<<*.1008.mp3>>>
Any suggestions about how to import from a link?
Thanks!

I removed the link. It was a little too much like a commercial.
Since it's already a MP3 file, click on it and when it starts to play, File > Save As, or right click on the file > Save As.
On a Mac, you can Control-Click > Save As.
After that, you can open in Audacity and edit your brains out. We're pushing people over to Audacity 1.3.11. 1.2 is getting very old and is starting to have problems. You can safely install both on your machine, but you can only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.
If the file doesn't open, it may be in a funny format. You can use Super or Switch (download) to convert it to something you can edit like WAV.
Audacity doesn't actually edit MP3. It converts the show to a high-qualilty internal format and then edits that. If you Export the show back to MP3, you will get two passes of MP3 damage back to pack.

Thanks, Koz. That worked just fine, and I'm now editing my brains out. By the way, I am using 1.3.9, so I guess I'm in the wrong board index? I was using 1.2 when I first signed up.

That was weird - I was just moving the topic to the 1.3 forum and someone (waxcylinder?) moved it at exactly the same time

Definitely worth upgrading to Audacity 1.3.11 - it has some important bug fixes.
