Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Importing MP3 - file shows as only .09 seconds long???

Post by red7261 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 5:19 pm

When I import an MP3 file (particularly a 30 minute track) it shows on the audacity window as being only .09 seconds long. And when I play it it's just a quick blip. The image of the file looks normal but the counter says it's really short. What am I doing wrong?

You are almost certainly trying to import a file type that Audacity does not support. Audacity Supports WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC & MP2 in 1.3.[/i]

If this is the case you have two basic options:

1. find and use some converter software to convert your file to a type that Audacity supports

2. play the file in any music software that supports that particular file format and record it in Audacity.
