The problem with multiple file open or import switching back to the native importer will be fixed in 1.3.12.

Recent Files and Drag'n'drop will still ignore the filter setting in the File Open window. After 1.3.12 we'll probably have an experimental method available for testing where the user can choose what importers open what types of file (irrespective of how you import the files).
