Recording Issues! Help Asap!!!

I upload a intrumental to audacity and the intrumental plays fine but then when i press the record button the intrumental starts skipping. Then when i try to record my voice in my mic my voice skips too and it sound wierd. ive been tryn to fix this problem all day! help asap!

We love fuzzy words. If you 'uploaded' the instrumental instead of capturing a live performance, where did it come from?

fuzzy words? i uploaded it from my cpu. how do i fix the recording problem tho.

Who Performed The Music!?!

If it wasn't you, then whoever did probably left it in a form that Audacity doesn't recognize. Convert the clip to WAV format using either Super or Switch (download) and try it again.

This kind of thing rarely happens when the artist performs all the parts of the song. It happens all the time when parts of the song are "borrowed."

i downloaded the intrumental from frostwire. my cousin does the same thing and it works for him. i was thinking it was something i ad to change on my cpu but ill try that...

Does (s)he have exactly the same Audacity version that you do?

i been tryn to fix this problem all day! i think it has something to do with waveform. but on audacity i hit the record button and the waves after the red line are small and not wavy. how do i change the waveform?

like when i press record there are no waves, its jus a straight line.
