ISSUE WITH CREATING A RINGTONE

Post by gadgetguroo » Tue Dec 18, 2007 2:11 am

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I am new to the forum so please bear with me. I am trying to create an mp3 ringtone and I followed the directions to change the sample rate to 16000 @ 32bit mono. I used quick mix to combine the tracks and now I am suppose to select the left channel and change it to mono and then delete the right track. How do I do that?? How do I select and delete a track. Any help with this matter would be appreciated.

I deleted your other post, please don't make duplicates.

In order to split a stereo track, click the name of the track off to the left (there's a small arrow here too), this is a drop down menu. Select "Split Stereo Track."

You should have two separate tracks now, one labeled "Left" and the other "Right". You can remove the Right track, and then click on the Left track's menu and select "Mono."

lol, I was just answering the other post, then it was gone. (exactly the kind of irritating confusion that cross-posting causes)

Oh well, I'll paste my response here - it pretty well restates alatham's reply, but has a little extra info thrown in.

To select a track, click on the box on the left of the track (where the bit depth and sample rate are shown). You will see it change colour when selected.

To select more than one track, repeat the process for each track but with the "shift" key held down.

To select everything, press Ctrl and "A"

To delete a track - select the track(s) then clkick on "Tracks" in the menu and select "Remove Tracks".

When you split a stereo track, you will get one track set to "Left Channel" and another track set to "Right Channel".
To change one of these to "Mono", click on the name of the track (by default this is "Audio Track") and select "Mono" in the drop down menu.

I realized after I submitted the first post it was placed in the wrong forum. Please accept my apology. I am new to this forum and I am still navigating around to familiarized myself. Thanks though for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated
