I decided to give 1.3.4-beta a spin, but subsequently reverted back to my previous version when I realized I could no longer program my two most favorite keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+3=Export to MP3 and Ctrl+Shift+3=Export Selection to MP3.
Did I jump to a wrong conclusion too quickly or is it now in fact far more cumbersome to export to mp3 and impossible to assign to a keyboard combination (in version 1.3.4, that is)? I can understand the need or desire to consolidate the Export to Wav and Export to Mp3 menu commands but taking away the ability to shortcut them seems a little harsh. Am I missing something here?
Thanks!

Re: Lost keyboard shortcut
I don't see why this is a problem. When you go to the Export Dialog Box, Audacity allows you to choose between various output formats. So the first time you do this you'll have to select MP3 (and change the bit rate by clicking the Options box), but every subsequent time Audacity will remember your chosen settings.
So unless you're constantly exporting to different formats, this should be 95% as smooth as it was before.

Re: Lost keyboard shortcut
Yes, I actually do switch between MP3 and Wav. I had also programmed Ctrl+W to Export to Wav and Ctrl+Shift+W to Export Selection to Wav.
Kind of a pain now whereas before it was a piece of cake.
