Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Recording issues!

Post by DonDonuts » Fri Dec 25, 2009 11:27 pm

Hi,

I am using Audacity 1.3.10 on Windows XP Media Edition, on a desktop. I can import my WAV or MP3 files that I created from Audacity 1.2.6. For example, I made a drum track and a bass guitar track (Using Line 6 Toneport UX1 for recording the bass and guitars). I import them into Audacity 1.3.10. They both play together, side by side, no problems. NOW, let's say I want to record my rhythm guitar tracks while the other tracks are playing. Recording works, and the other tracks play as they should, BUT, once you stop the recording and play back what you created, it does not sync up to the other tracks. I use Audacity 1.6x and I don't have a single problem. Is there a preference that needs to be adjusted somewhere????

<<<it does not sync up to the other tracks.>>>

That's called latency if it's the same delay across the whole performance, and you can adjust it with the latency adjustments in Audacity 1.3 preferences. I couldn't tell you where. It s different on different versions.

There's nothing wrong with your old performance. Just use the Time Shift Tool (Left and Right Arrows) to push that single track back into alignment.

I will try those those things mentioned when I get a chance. Thank you for the advise!
