Compatibility with Sound Boards
M-AUDIO. I have a M-AUDIO External sound board, and would like to know if it is possible to use its features in Audacity? Are they compatible?

Oh, the sound cards are, but the software drivers probably aren't. M-Audio uses very excellent ASIO drivers which Audacity doesn't support. Find out if there are Windows drivers for your device.
I'm working from fuzzy memory... Uninstall your device from the Windows Control Panel and then unplug it from the computer. Then plug it back in without running the software installer CD. If Windows installs it anyway, you win. You might not get all the fancy talents and tools of the device, but that should work.
