Audio from two different recording settings...

Hi!

I'm new to Audacity and to this forum, so hang in there with me. I have a bit of an issue and am in need of some assistance.

I recently shot some video of a Christmas concert. During the concert, there was a segment where the sound guy had forgotten to turn on the microphones. It was a series of 5 speakers, and 3 of them were without mics, and my mic did not pick it up.

I went and re-recorded the speakers, and the first two came out okay, but on the third one, the sound guy turned the mic back on in the middle of her part. My re-recorded audio sounds nothing like the original audio. I can't figure out how to blend it properly to make it sound even a little natural. It also doesn't help that on the original audio, there is background music.

And that brings me here. Is there any way I can get the original audio and the re-recorded audio to sound even remotely close? And to keep the background music in tact?

I appreciate any help/guidance anyone can offer.

Thanks!
Cake

We can continue to wait for other postings, but I don't know anybody who can rescue that with any software.

Thanks for replying.

I had a feeling it might be hopeless, but I wanted to exhaust every possibility.

Have a happy holiday. Thank you!
