wont connect to external mic

im using an external mic that is working with the basic recording program on the computer, but audacity will not recognise it and it will not come up in any mic sub menu's anywhere on audacity. any help would be greatly appreaciated, thank you.

Names! I'm using a Blue Snowball USB microphone on Cool Edit 2000 for Windows.
