I'm trying to install Audacity for use on a fairly restrictive network and all export formats work (including ones that utilise FFmpeg) except for OGG.
Does anyone know the technical difference between the OGG export and the other formats? I had the same issue in 1.2.6.
It goes through the motions (stating that the entire file is being exported to Ogg Vorbis) but no file appears when it's finished.
It's OK on a machine logged in with full administrative rights. Is there a hard-coded location that the file is stored in before copied to the location you specify?
Thanks,
gmjs

Not as far as I know (but not to see that is impossible).gmjs wrote:Is there a hard-coded location that the file is stored in before copied to the location you specify?
Have you tried using a "portable" set-up yet?

Re: OGG Export Only Type that Doesn't Work
Sorry--hello again
Yes, I'm using Audacity 1.3.10b with a 'Portable Settings' folder. Is there any sort of debugging that can be done on a Windows system to see what's happening? It's really strange--MP3, WAV, WMA are all fine. It only affects the user accounts that do not have administrative privileges on the workstation.

Re: OGG Export Only Type that Doesn't Work
OK *ashamed* I've just had a thought.
From memory, I think you can ban file types from being saved to a Windows file server. I bet no-one's heard of 'OGG' and have left it in the 'blocked file types' list. I'll poke around and check (the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that that's the problem).
Sorry for being a big waste of time and many thanks for your help!

Re: OGG Export Only Type that Doesn't Work
Thanks for the update, I was just starting to type when your post popped up.
Just to say, I've tested on a Guest account on XP and no problem.
Blocked file type sounds like a good possibility
