The Beta ver. works on win 7 but i cant save in a format so i can play in on a standard cd player, just in audacity format

Audacity Saves in its own internal format

Use File > Export to create WAV/MP3/whatever to create usable music files

This cause lots of confusion - you're not the first ... :)
