I have a major conflict with Skype. Skype shuts down as soon s the audio portion loads. This persists even if Audacity is removed from the system. It is making this computer non usable for communications . Is there a fix?

Skype requires exclusive access to the sound card. It does not play nicely with other audio software. To use other audio software, shut down Skype completely before launching the other software.

Recording from Skype requires software that has been specifically designed for doing so, such as Pamela, Total Recorder, etc.
