Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Which audio do I use

Post by mygreygolf » Tue Nov 10, 2009 3:39 pm

I am running 1.3.X in Windows 7 64 bit. Whis is the best audio - MME High Def or IDT High Def CODEC? Is one any better than the other or should I be using a different audio altogether?

Windows 7 has not yet had much real "field testing" for Audacity (or any other application).
I'd suggest that you try both and see which works better.
Is there an option for "direct sound"?

If Audacity is currently working - write down settings (on paper) before you change them - that way you can easily put it right if you mess up.

Hi! It is a 'direct sound' option. I can't personally hear any difference and since the manual for my computer makes several references to the 'IDT' option, that's what I'll play with.
Thanks!
