Change what to 192K? MP3 export? That's in the export panel during the creation of the file where it probably should have been along along.

OK.

Yes, the bit rate for exporting an MP3. Where did you say it was?

File menu > Export
If you have Audacity configured to show the Metadata Editor (default) enter id3 data (optional) and click OK
Select MP3 as the Export format and click on "Options" button to select options.
If you find "bugs", try looking in the manual, or searching the forum - if you can't find the answer, please post an accurate description of the issue and we will try to help. Whinging doesn't help anyone.

I think we may have two problems here - one as the result of the other.Mattcharles wrote:I was working on a progect and I tried to save it and it didn't save. It silenced my whole project.
Does your project play?
If not, have you deleted, moved or renamed any of the files that you were using? (was the project entirely stuff that you had recorded within this project, or had you imported any files?
Do you fully understand how Audacity manages files and projects (all of this stuff: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ement_Tips )
There is a known bug in Audacity 1.3.9 that produces this error if the project contains any completely silent tracks (now fixed in Audacity 1.3.10)

Lots more detail. We need to build your machines in mid-air and see where there could be possibilities for problems. Windows XP laptop? Which version of Audacity exactly? How long was the show? Have you ever edited a show like this before?
You Know Audacity will not Save a sound file, right? Projects only help you if you have a very complex show and need all the extra tools. To get a sound file you have to Export one. File > Export As WAV.
If you really did Save a Project, it may be still there. Find the AUP file and Right-Click > Open With > Audacity. If you moved things around, deleted things or changed filenames, this won't work so hot.

Duelling Postings.
Is your drive full? Did you try to save a Project with illegal characters in the filename? Upper and lower case letters, dash and underscore. No other characters.
