I had began mixing 2 songs together on Audacity (Like I often do) however for some reason I just went to open up the project file again and then I began to play what I had created only to find that the songs had messed up.
They weren't out of sinc or anything, just different samples of the songs had been randomly replaced throughout. Like I had a sample looped from 1 song for 8 bars on music when it got the the 6th the left channel had skipped randomly to the verse and the right channel had began selecting bits of audio through the song and pasting it all over the place and putting sound in the middle.
The weird thing was is that the sound would continue up until the points where I had put in a few seconds of silence and then sometimes they would work fine on the next section.
Now I am wondering if there is a way how I can fix and solve this issue without having to re do the entire project and somehow resort back to before it {word rejected} up.
Thanks
-Mike
Edit This should have been in the 1.2 stable version of Audacity... my bad

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Audio messed up and randomized
Is this a just a playback problem from having too many tracks? Try copying a number of tracks, File > New and pasting those tracks into a new Project. Also select each track separately by clicking above the mute/solo buttons and Project > Quick Mix. This will order the data files for the project more contiguously and may help playback.Mike!! wrote:I had began mixing 2 songs together on Audacity (Like I often do) however for some reason I just went to open up the project file again and then I began to play what I had created only to find that the songs had messed up.

Are you sure you are not using 1.3? 1.3.9 does have a problem with desynchronised playback if you have tracks at different sample rates and/or you loop play multiple tracks. Try the 1.3.10 Nightly Builds in that case, where we (think we) have fixed it.
