See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ate_tracks

This will enable you to create a set of WAV or MP3 files one per track. The next problem comes when you either load the MP3 file into your portable music player, where nor, mally the player will try to insert andn inter-track gap. iPods have a option to load a set of music files as a "gapless album" - I don't know about other MP3 players.

Similarly if you want to make a CD from the WAVs, then the burning sofware is likely to insert a 2-second gap between the tracks (as specified in the Red Book standard for CDs). Most CD burning software has a switch to allow gapless burning.
