Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

1.3.9 Crash with Windows 7

Post by firstuser » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:39 pm

I'm running version 1.3.9 under Windows 7.
It crashes on selecting Preferences fom the Edit menu.
I have seen that this was a problem with earlier versions under Vista.
Any suggestions please?

Thanks,
All is OK now, the problem was temporarily resolved by plugging the speakers into the mic socket when starting Audacity so that it thought it had an input device and the preferences option didn't cause a crash (I don't have a microphone or any other input device)
The installation of new drivers for the acl888 sound chip then provided the stereo mix input device which seemed to keep everything happy.
