The 128 is not a speed, but rather the birate (or the amount of data that is used to store the audio). The higher the bitraye, the higher the quality - but note that the MP3 file also gets accordingly bigger.

In 1.3.x to change the bitrate - on Exporting you will see an Options button in the Export dialog box. Just select the bitrate that you require.

Note that Audacity will remeber this setting in your Audacity preferences and will use it the next time you export, until you further reset it.

Is not a speed but a bitrate. you are wright. But in V1.2.6 i had a choice by export a selection (. max 320 kbs. ) In the beta version i can't find that box. Is that missing in the beta version ??

No, it is still there in the beta vns. As I said in my previous post:

The Options button is at the bottom right hand corner of the Export dialog box
