Please, no more Alvin the Chipmunk

Hi Everyone,

Rank amateur here, just started using Audacity to record voice trax for my radio show (had been using a hard-disk recorder). Funny thing happened on first try: playing back my track and listening through headphones, it sounded like Alvin the Chipmunk (not really that bad, but certainly not natural-sounding). Playing it back via speakers sounds fine. I run mic through an Audiobox USB gizmo into the PC via a USB. Is it in the box, or somewhere in the Audacity software? I fear I hit something on the tool bar or worse!

Thanks,
Scott

That's super difficult to believe. Borderline impossible. Then you plugged the headphones back in and that was fine now, too? How are the speakers and headphones connected?
