Option to Auto-Name Labels?

While in playback, I like to do a mouse dragged REGION SELECT and CTRL+B while the audio is still PLAY-ing, but after a Ctrl+B, it forces me to enter a LABEL name which I don't care about. I just want to know there is a marked region there. If I zoom in enough, the screen scrolls to the next waveform screen but the LABEL focused text field is still screaming for attention asking me to enter a LABEL name. Yet the moving PLAY beam is also requesting to show the waveform's current position.

Exaggerated Example:

Focused LABEL text field is at 00:01:30
PLAY beam is moving 00:05:00+

The screen bounces back and forth between 00:01:30 and 00:05:01
The screen bounces back and forth between 00:01:30 and 00:05:02
The screen bounces back and forth between 00:01:30 and 00:05:03
The screen bounces back and forth between 00:01:30 and 00:05:04
The screen bounces back and forth between 00:01:30 and 00:05:05
.
.
.

all this is happening in milliseconds and the screen becomes a blur...

As for now my solution is to click outside the LABEL text field to unfocus it and leave the LABEL name empty. But that's an extra click needed by me and I need to be concerned whether or not the screen will scroll by too fast causing that blur to happen.

Can a developer add an option to Auto-Name Labels in the Prefereces so I don't need to handle the Label naming? Or unfocus the LABEL text field if the user does SHIFT-MOUSE WHEEL UP/DOWN to horizontally scroll the window?

Many Thanks.

Why is it an extra click? You have to click to draw the regions you want to label, so just draw your region, CTRL + B to create the label, then draw the next region in the track (which will steal the focus and close the last label you created). You can also change CTRL + B to something easier to hit (like "B") in the keyboard tab of Preferences.

If you export multiple files based on the labels using File > Export Multiple, there are a number of options to autoname the files including using the automatically generated file name (if you imported a file) or leaving the labels blank. In that case the files are named untitled.wav (or whatever format you're exporting to), -2.wav, 3.wav...
