Koz,
Windows Movie Maker has problems with mp3. It uses wma or wav. If you convert the mp3 back to wav and it sounds like the mp3, it does not seem worth the effort. To my unsophisticated ears the mp3 did not really sound much different than the original wav that I posted. I know that you put a lot of effort into cleaning up that song, and I appreciate that. But apparently there is not enough quality there for you to work with. So, it does not seem fair for you to spend more time working on it. Let's just stop here. Thank you for trying.

Too late.

If you're listening to this on a tiny computer sound system, it could seem like nothing happened, but if you listen on a much larger sound system, there is a very significant difference. You may notice that many of the clicks and pops are gone, but there are many microphone handling sounds, rumbles, and thumps that are gone as well.
If you were waiting for me to get rid of the children's voices, chair movements and doors closing, those aren't noise. Those are performers and I would be surprised if anybody could take them out.

Re: Could You Possibly Clean Up This Song?
Koz,
That is a good point that I did not remember. I was listening to it with inexpensive headphones while it played on my computer. I am looking forward to listening to it play on my TV as part of a Movie Maker video. I am sure that it will be a great improvement over what I had. Right off the bat, the voice sounds "stronger" and that alone is a vast improvement.
I had no idea what could be done to clean it up. I guess I was expecting miracles from modern technology. But I soon found that I could not improve it at all. I am glad that you could, and am even more glad that you were willing to take the time to do that for me. I appreciate that very much!
Thank you.

Re: Could You Possibly Clean Up This Song?
You're welcome. It was an interesting exercise because I used several tools not usually intended for this application. For example, on a whim, I used the tool that gets rid of clicks on phonograph records to get rid of the clicks and pops on your performance. Several odd tools like that.
Anyone with days of free time can take this much further. There are very sophisticated tools that can get rid of more trash. I stopped at the point that the rescue started to become a career move.
Enjoy,
Koz

Koz,
Well, Iam glad that you took the time and used those special tools to make that rough recording into the smooth song that it is now. While watching the video in which it is a part, I could not help but think that it really would have been a waste if you had taken even more time working on it because I would probably not have been aware of any further imorovements. It is perfect for my purposes now.
