What does "VST Effects now display GUI by default" mean?

Post by brownfaeces » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:08 pm

This sounded to me like VST plugins now have their GUIs displayed in Audacity? But they don't, so what exactly does it mean?

I've not tried this yet (I'm on Linux and don't use VSTs on this) but I would assume that it means that VSTs display a graphic interface without the need for installing the VST bridge plug-in.
Hopefully someone else will be able to provide more information.

Woops! I apologise! I don't know where I got the idea that Audacity still doesn't display VST guis!?

This is a fantastic step forward! I congratulate the developers! Audacity has really become quite a sophisticated piece of software, I appreciate it.
