Recorded file sounds weird, like under the water

Hi!
I have this weird problem. I recorded an important internet radio programme last night, using a stereo cable from my computer's "phones out" to computer's line in. Now, when I started to listen to it, the sound doesn't make any sense. It sounds something like they were talkinkg under water. I can't tell if it's faster or slower than it should be, but anyway you can't tell what they are saying.
This has happened to me sometimes earlier. Then it helped for me to turn Audacity off and open it again, but it doesn't do the trick this time. Any good ideas how can I get the file working?
Thanks!
