1.3.8 won't open

I've tried a zipped & regular download of 1.3.8 beta on my Vista PC, both won't open. I've installed & ran a few previous versions w/ no problem. I don't get an error code, but a window that says (roughly): "A problem caused this program to close", & then my help & support app. opens up and loads the page on DEP (Data Execution Prevention). I could open up DEP & make an exception w/ Audacity, but why would DEP prevent Audacity 1.3.8 from running in the first place ? It never objected to earlier versions. And could there be some actual danger that DEP is protecting my PC from ? Thanx !

We try to stay from abbreviations in troubleshooting.

Nope...... That seems to work for those who get a specific error message while trying to open 1.3.8. Thanx anyway.

Try the latest version of Audacity in case this is a bug that has been fixed. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... s_Binaries
