Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Echo on Recording & Playback.

Post by EddieReynolds » Wed Jul 29, 2009 9:18 am

Hi,

I'm new to Audacity......and have now downloaded the 1.3.7 (Beta) Version. It is recording and playing back with quite a strong echo......despite the fact that all FX controls from my Mixer are turned off! Having looked in Edit > Properties > Interface, I see that the CleanSpeechMode box is NOT ticked. Could THIS be the reason for the echo that I am getting....?? If not, can you point me in the right direction please?

Thank you.

Eddie.

No. Clean Speech Mode changes the Audacity interface, it does not change any of the sound system settings. It should be switched off (as it is by default).

"Software Playthrough!" should be switched off in Preferences (I think it's in the "Audio I/O" tab).
