recording from a CD Audio track
I am tring to import a CD music track in the new Audacit 3. The site says that this is a new feature however I can not use it as if get an error message about it's availability. Tried to set the Preference which asked for an avformat-52.dll file which I can not seem to locate or download. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Really? What site?rockin_ron wrote:I am tring to import a CD music track in the new Audacit 3. The site says that this is a new feature
Audacity can not import audio directly from a CD - you need to rip the CD first to get a wav file, then Audacity can import the WAV file straight in without any need for avformat-52.dll
C-Dex is a good, free program for Windows for ripping CDs.

http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a talks about the new features and about 1/2 down it talks about the new features of audio recording. Under the File Menu if you go to Perferences it talks about downing a file.

I see no mention of importing files directly into Audacity from CD.rockin_ron wrote:http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-a talks about the new features and about 1/2 down it talks about the new features of audio recording. Use C-dex or similar to rip the CD to WAV, then Import the WAV into Audacity.
