vista 64 bit

I get conflicting info when I Google on audacity and its compatibility with vista 64 bit. Audacity works well with all of our XP windows computers but not with my vista 64 bit. That said, there could be other factors at play. The problem is that there is a high pitch noise picked up when recording, esp. when recording a phone conversation. But we do straight mic and mic via telephone recording with audacity on other computers without a hitch. Please advise. Thanks.

Many people successfully use Audacity with Vista 64, however, thanks to the horrible things that Microsoft have done to the sound system there are certain issues with any version of Vista. Most of it is covered here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS
