Voice Metalliziced after using Quick Mix (sample included)

Post by BigCrazy » Fri Jun 19, 2009 9:17 am

Me and my colleague were making a recording. About halfway through we decided to stop for a break, then we started recording again. He quick mixed the top and bottom recording (they weren't overlapping) and exported it as an mp3 and sent it to me later. He is using version 1.3 beta. The problem is in the second half, our voices are all robot-ish and sped up a little bit.

Here is a 5 second sample (Will play, don't have to download)

If you have any idea how to reverse the process so our voices sound normal, please post here or PM me here.
The recording is pretty important.
Thanks

I don't know what has happened to cause this, but I can see what has happened. There are little bits of data missing throughout the clip. There is no way to make it normal again as bits of the data are completely missing.

I suspect that the damage occured during the recording rather than during the mixing - did you listen to the track before it was mixed? USB devices can sometimes be a bit prone to this type of problem, or if the hard drive is slow or fragmented.

No I didn't listen to the track after it was mixed.
It may have been a mic problem. Ah well, you gave me my answer that it can't be recovered.
Thanks for the help.
