Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

not enough room available to paste the selection

Post by sagetyrtle » Thu May 28, 2009 9:42 am

I'm using 1.3.7, Windows XP.

In previous versions, I was able to paste a selection and the track in front of it would jump forward.

Now I get the error message: "There is not enough room available to paste the selection." I understand why it's happening, and how to paste the selection in.

My question is: is there a preference I can set so that the track *does* jump forward, the way it did before?

Thanks much for any suggestions you might have,

This sounds like it may be a bug - I will notify one of the developers.

Go to the Interface tab of Preferences and under "Behaviors", put a check mark by "Editing a clip can move other clips". It is on by default, so you must have unchecked it.
